Integrated Research Education and Support group (IRES) is a Cameroon based organization focused on research, education and health system strengthening. The mission of IRES is to generate contextualized scientific evidence and innovations to inform public health practices and policies geared toward increasing access to quality health care services and strengthening of health systems.
The objective of this internship is to provide unique opportunity for young and dynamic Cameroonians to acquire practical knowledge and skills in public health practice, research and health system strengthening. The internship objectives aligns with IRES's strategic areas, which include; implementation of basic and operational research with attention to innovative public health approaches, building capacity in public health research and practice, public health leadership and advocacy.
The selected interns will work under close supervision of the IRES leadership to achieve the following objectives:
-- Masters degree in any of the following: Public health, Epidemiology, Social sciences Biostatistics, Project Management, Ethics or any other health related discipline.
Basic skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software such as Epi Info, SPSS or STATA.
The duration of the internship is six months (6 months) with possibility of extension depending on the level of attainment of the internship objectives.
English and French are the working languages of IRES. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
Selection of qualified candidates will include an initial review of the CVs of applicants, followed by competency-based interview of pre-selected candidates.
